Like the t,our roads and Bridges are in total disrepair despite millions going to mass highway annually. Now using the guise of climate change, new proposals are looking while most small companies are just starting to recover from the recession a decade ago. Please look elsewhere for funding to kill jobs and entrepreneurship in Massachusetts

Greed by our representatives is moving this initiative and nothing else. We have made costly improvements in our vehicles to combat the false claim of Climate Change which actually is a matter of the earths evolution and we all know this as this has been taking place since the origin of Earth. Don't you think it is time 5to stop stealing what is RIGHTFULLY OURS ? |

If you really want to reduce pollution, you need to reduce congestion. Clearly, buses and trains don’t lower highway congestion. The technology exists today to reduce congestion AND enhance personal mobility, without killing the economy. The best tool in our toolbox is congestion pricing.

People in this state, and especially Washington County, need to travel a lot because we are so spread out. That takes a huge bite our of our meager income as it is. With other states pulling out of this "deal," we would be foolish to enter or remain in it. We are already one of the leaders in carbon reduction. This proposal makes no sense. |

My husband, son, and I all drive Teslas. I have a Model X and they each drive Model 3s. I have noticed how I have become more sensitive to the odors of gasoline and its exhaust. I am disappointed that there seems to be a dearth of Tesla Superchargers in the vicinity of PECO; however, that is another topic.
I recommend that State and National Park Rangers drive EVs because of their close contact with people enjoying fresh air and nature (not exhaust). I also recommend that state and local police officers drive Teslas because of their 0 - 60 speed, overall speed and quick stopping. Our use of fossil fuels must be decreased drastically to slow down the effects of climate change and global warming. |

I have been retired for almost 3 years and have a fixed income. I want to know why I should have to pay for additional taxes on gas to help reduce carbon emissions ? I do not believe in Global Warming and very angry with politicians trying to ram it down my throat. Being on a fixed income I cannot afford increases every year for the government to put charging stations in Southern Maine. That is discrimination against every retired person in this state. Mills has done nothing for the state of Maine since she got in there except setting a new record for spending money. There are many people that live in rural areas in Maine and we should not have to finance anything that we don't believe in, especially the retiree's living on a fixed income. Maybe Mills wants me to go back to work and work until I die. That way she could bring in some more immigrants. As you can see I am extremely upset, but do not worry because I know nobody cares about my opinion and all the bleeding heart Liberals will have there way and drive 50% of the Maine population into bankruptcy . Have a nice day !!! P.S I will probably have to start burning coal again so I can afford to pay my extra gas taxes. Oh well so much for carbon emissions. |

While I support reasonable steps to reduce our carbon footprint, this initiative is not reasonable. Maine is a relatively poor state, with an aging population, incomes below average and many people living paycheck to paycheck. Adding this tax to already high fuel prices will be burdensome on hardworking Maine families. Personally, it will add to my fuel costs to drive to work, add to our expenses at the grocery and other stores (the companies who deliver goods to stores cannot absorb this additional tax and the cost will trickle down at the market) and it will add significantly to my husband's costs. He is a self-employed truck driver; he will take the hit for the additional tax, which cuts into our profits, plus we will have the higher cost at the market and likely higher heating costs. We will seriously need to consider leaving Maine after 25 years living here if this goes through. PLEASE reconsider, as it looks like other states are reconsidering. Mainers simply cannot afford it!! |
