s a good time to being. Interest rates are lower and bonding seems to be easier to fund. As soon as we get closer to national bipartisan leadership like this project, the better we can address the outdated system we have on the east coast. We can do anything we set out minds to, we are still Americans. My caution would be to avoid building whatever by picking on the most urban areas without assisting without assisting those who live there. People who don't have access to clean air or living areas should not be further pressured. I am guessing some sort fo bullet train or other projects people will actually use? |

I beg you to join the plan to reduce emissions. The policy must have a strong component of equity by prioritizing clean investments in areas overburdened by pollution and/or for those who don't have access. We certainly don't want to have to wear face masks just to breathe like some of our Asian areas need to do! I appreciate the bipartisan nature of this project, moving us forward while the federal government takes us backward. Our current administration is living in the Dark Ages - don't join them, I beg you!!!! |

Climate change is real, and human pollution is the major contributor. We owe it to all creatures who share the planet, to take aggressive steps to curb all forms of pollution. It is our duty. |

There are an awful lot of vehicles on the roads and the volume is expected to increase. The environmental and health costs are staggering. Something needs to be done. Costs to everyone should be expected. Leadership is vital. The Transportation and Climate Initiative provides basic framework to provide the pinch on our reliance on fossil fuels and establish investments in clean energy and mitigate the damaging effects of climate change that are on the way. |

During my 33-year career as a city planner specializing in transportation, i witnessed passage of the Clean Air Act , ISTEA, TEA-21 and other hard-fought legislation aimed at redirecting transportation priorities away from facilitating single occupant vehicle travel towards more environmentally friendly modes. In the current political climate that seeks to undermine previous Congressional intent, I urge you to continue the fight for sustainable transportation. |

Some examples are electric cars, electric trains and buses, bicycles, and even scooters. In order to do this, we will have to enact regulations and laws, provide incentives through rebates, taxes, grants, etc., and develop new infrastructures, such as charging stations, bike/scooter paths, and rails/stations. If we fail to do this, our planet is destined to become much more difficult to live in and we will be spending far more money just to survive than we would have had we developed new modes of transportation. |

Perhaps by developing a ride share program that would actually function? (We have had many discussions and a few failures over the years.) People have to drive up to 30-45 minutes just to buy groceries, or even gasoline! And we all drive vehicles that are far too large but can handle the extreme weather and rough road conditions. So much room for improvement! |

While individual autos will likely remain a major part of overall transportation, our country lags severely behind most other developed nations in public transportation. A robust and modern public transportation system can only augment economic growth (not deter it) therefore such an investment will have both positive economic as well as environmental benefits. |
